Voith and eight other leading German companies have joined forces, in order to show by encouraging examples, how Germany can expand its strong position in global competition. The keys to this are knowledge, know-how and entrepreneurial spirit. The Knowledge Factory would like to incite a passion for the future and make a contribution towards Germany becoming the world market leader in knowledge.

The Knowledge Factory is taking on three subjects: it promotes knowledge, entrepreneurial spirit and competitiveness. In the field of knowledge promotion, the member companies of the Knowledge Factory are entering into partnerships with schools and participate in school projects in consultation with education experts. In order to make a contribution towards the promotion of entrepreneurial spirit, the members of the Knowledge Factory offer their know-how to people setting up their own businesses, as well as mentor programs The activities of the Knowledge Factory are rounded off by a list of examples of best-practice cases of company achievements at the location Germany.

On the basis of the Knowledge Factory, Voith is continuing existing projects and has introduced a series of new initiatives:
Existing school sponsorships will be extended to further schools in and around Heidenheim. With "Holiday Worker Plus", holiday workers are given the opportunity to get first-hand information in the forefront of their vacation job on the everyday working life of a modern engineer for half a day.

In order to create even more enthusiasm for technology among pupils, Voith will also initiate the establishment of a "Pupils' Center of Competence", where pupils, working in groups under expert guidance, are encouraged to carry out research projects by themselves and, in doing so, learn how to handle technology in a relaxed and convivial environment.
